Droplet Lab is revolutionizing the way we quantify the physical properties of surfaces. With a mission to make the measurement of surface tension and contact angle a more practical, mobile, and cost-efficient task, the company has engineered a smartphone enabled surface tensiometer, the Dropometer, entirely circumventing the need for bulky and expensive hardware. Comprised of an app that runs on a smartphone as a standalone system, as well as associated add-on hardware, the instrument has been shown to match, and in some cases outdo, the performance of the traditional measurement tools.
